Exciting news! Appeon and SAP have signed an agreement confirming the release of new major versions of ‪#‎PowerBuilder‬. We have no doubt that Appeon will provide PowerBuilder users with a great development platform for years to come and we look forward to seeing all the great new features!

Appeon is planning to do a series of Webcasts to present the vision and roadmap that are planned for PowerBuilder. The first webcast will be hosted at the end of October. It will focus on explaining to the community our vision for PowerBuilder. The second webcast will be presented several weeks later. It will focus on explaining to the community the high-level roadmap planned for PowerBuilder. Early next year will be a final Webcast. This Webcast will explain to the community a detailed roadmap that is planned for PowerBuilder.

The general availability of Appeon 2015 for Powerbuilder was announced on October 31 by the Appeon® Corporation. Appeon 2015 for PB is the next generation solution for deploying PowerBuilder applications to Web and Mobile targets. Being a major release, it extends the Web target to all leading Windows Web Browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer, and Opera). It is also compatible with iPhone 6, the new iOS 8 and Android KitKat. 

In addition to the expanded client platform support, Appeon 2015 for PB includes a significant amount of new features in areas such as productivity enhancement, PB features enhancement and new mobile-specific features. Europe greeted four PowerBuilder conferences in early October with hundreds of attendees – by bringing together PB developers from across Europe. The conferences in Milan, Paris, Berlin and Zurich were successful in providing developers with technical sessions and new third party tools! In addition to the latest information on Appeon multi-browser, Reporting Studio and Visual Expert, the attendees got a sneak peek of Visual Expert for PL/SQL and were able to benefit from the presentation of the renowned PB developer and presenter Bruce Armstrong that covered a number of PowerBuilder topics.PowerBuilder Conference Paris

The two day Berlin conference presented latest updates and news of the PowerBuilder Community and gave a demonstration of PowerBuilder visual and non-visual objects in .NET applications. The conference in Zurich had, in addition to Bruce Armstrong and Christophe Dufourmantelle, an annual general assembly in order to discuss the current member status and to present the review of the year.

Filiberto Sosa will talk about the NeuroTechnology Drivers used to integrate Fingerprint security in applications deployed to the web using Appeon, in order to monitor time and attendance as well as customer identification.   Also, he will explain the different functions that are needed to Read and Write the fingerprints and also how to compare them to see if they match. The fingerprints are PNG files that also need to be stored in the Appeon Server; when doing a comparison, they will need to be downloaded to make the match. All of this will be explained in a one hour session.
